Otros ODS también han marcado la agenda de 2019 son: ODS 1 Lucha contra la pobreza y 10 Reducción de las desigualdades Se ultimó y presentó oficialmente en una Jornada con el lema “Derecho y responsabilidad” la Guía de Mecanismos de Acción Social, redactada dentro del convenio con la Federación Española de Municipios y Provincias (FEMP). ODS 13 Acción por el clima La preocupación por el impacto del Cambio Climático ha estado muy presente en las acciones del sector. Así, hemos aprobado la “Guía para la elaboración de Planes de Emergencia ante situaciones de sequía en Sistemas de Abastecimiento Urbano”, adaptándonos a los nuevos requerimientos normativos ministeriales. Ha sido desarrollada conjuntamente con técnicos del MITECO y fue presentada oficialmente en su sede en una sesión técnica. El desarrollo de la COP25 animó la celebración de actos y acciones de divulgación enmateria deCambioClimático. Redactamos unmanifiesto sectorial para celebrar el desarrollo de ese foromundial enMadrid y para animar a los gobiernos y la sociedad a la toma de decisiones. ODS 17 Alianzas para llegar a los objetivos AEAS viene defendiendo el modelo español de hibridación, cooperación y coexistencia de los sistemas de gestión públicos, privados y mixtos. Ello se manifiesta de forma explícita cuando se considera necesario, por lo que entendemos que trabajamos desde hace muchos años en el cumplimiento de dicho objetivo. En 2019, se ha trabajado en ilustrar, explicar y convencer al Relator de la ONU para el Derecho Humano el Agua y al Saneamiento de las ventajas de un sistema como el español. En septiembre, el Relator publicó el primer borrador de un informe sobre la participación del sector privado en la prestación de los servicios del agua. AEAS participó en las reuniones bilaterales y puso de relieve las prácticas de algunos de los operadores en relación con los ODS, los mecanismos de acción social y otros aspectos relacionados con ética, códigos de conducta, transparencia y rendición de cuentas, confeccionando un documento que sirvió de hilo conductor para la reunión con el Relator, y que después se remitió oficialmente. Todo este trabajo requiere ser explicado, divulgado y transferido, por ello tenemos muy presente la importancia de la comunicación. En 2019, se entregaron los galardones de la IV edición de los premios de periodismo, bajo el lema “Retos en la gestión del agua urbana”. Por su parte, el IV Premio de Redes Sociales AEAS llevaba por lema • UNE 149002 – Acceptance Criteria for Flushable products. The Standard is the fruit of the presence of AEAS on the UNE Technical Standardisation Committee for Water Engineering, the work of different experts belonging to our commissions, and agreements entered into with other sectors (manufacturers). Other SDGs also set the agenda for 2019, including: SDG 1: Ending poverty / sdg10: reducing inequalities The Guide to Social Action Mechanisms, drawn up within the framework of an agreement entered into with the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), was completed and officially presented at a Seminar on “Rights and Responsibilities”. SDG 13: Climate action Concern about the impact of climate change has been very present in the actions of the sector, as demonstrated by our ratification of the “Guide to the Preparation of Emergency Plans for Drought Scenarios in Urban Supply Systems”, through which we responded to new ministerial regulatory requirements. The guide was developed jointly with technical experts from the Spanish Ministry for Ecological Transition (MITECO) and was officially presented at a technical session held at the ministerial headquarters. The COP25 fuelled a number of dissemination events and actions in the area of climate change.We drafted a sectoral manifesto to celebrate the holding of this world forum in Madrid and to encourage governments and society to take decisions in this area. ODS 17 Partnerships for the goals AEAS has long defended the Spanish model of hybridisation, cooperation and co-existence of public, private and mixed management systems. This is explicitly manifested when considered necessary and we, therefore, feel that we have been working for many years on meeting this goal. Work was carried out in 2019 to demonstrate, explain and convince the UN Special Rapporteur on the Human Right to Water and Sanitation of the advantages of a system such as the Spanish one. In September, the Rapporteur published the first draft of a report on the participation of the private sector in the provision of water services. AEAS participated in the bilateral meetings and underscored the practices of some operators in relation to SDGs, the social action mechanisms and other aspects related to ethics, codes of conduct, transparency and accountability in a document that served as a framework for the meeting with the Special Rapporteur and which was later submitted officially. All of this work needs to be explained, disseminated and transferred, which is why we are very aware of the importance of communication. In 2019, the 4th edition of the journalism awards was held and the theme for the event was “Challenges in urban water management”. Moreover, the 4th AEAS Social Media Award bore the theme “Water, the responsibility of all”. This award sought to raise awareness amongst citizens of the importance of caring for and protecting water with our individual actions, in such a way that we can contribute to maintaining sustainability in urban water services.
