Características y posibilidades El contenedor ligero está fabricado en rafia y cuenta en sus cuatro paredes laterales con refuerzos de polipropileno que le confieren robustez y estabilidad. Para ser fácilmente reconocible por parte de los ciudadanos es de color amarillo y, además, dispone de serigrafía informativa sobre los materiales que deben depositarse en su interior. La boca es similar a la de los contenedores de vía pública mientras que la tapa cuenta con un sistema de velcros que permite su fácil vaciado. Por otra parte, en la base existen sumideros para la limpieza del contenedor y la evacuación de los lixiviados. Su volumen de recogida de 730 litros aproximadamente con unas medidas de altura, ancho y profundidad de 90 x 90 x 90 cm. Un volumen equivalente a un contendor de carga trasera de cuatro ruedas. Todo ello lo convierte en un contenedor económico, de fácil almacenamiento, transporte y montaje, además de adaptarse a diversos sistemas, superficies y usos. Del piloto al desarrollo El festival “Músicos en la Naturaleza” en la Sierra de Gredos en el mes de junio de 2019 fue el punto de arranque de la implantación del contenedor ligero. El evento contó con una treintena de contenedores ligeros para el fomento de un evento sostenible que permitió a los más de 13.000 asistentes separar sus envases y dejar la naturaleza libre de residuos. Actualmente se encuentra en fase de comercialización por todo el territorio nacional y numerosas entidades han incorporado este sistema de recogida en la celebración de eventos diversos. Entre estos organismos se encuentran los Ayuntamientos de Madrid, Alcalá de Henares, Getafe, Fuenlabrada, Rivas Vaciamadrid, León, Soria, y numerosos municipios de las provincias de Ávila, Segovia, Valladolid, Sevilla, Tenerife y Valencia. Por otra parte, en la actualidad, Ecoembes y FERTIPLAST S.L. (empresa especializada en la fabricación de sacos de rafia y big bags) están trabajando en un nuevo modelo de contenedor ligero que permita el vaciado mediante descarga con camiones de carga superior, para que se pueda extender su ámbito de implantación. Todos estos detalles hacen que el contenedor ligero, en su conjunto, pueda ofrecer una solución sencilla, económica, versátil y rápida para la recogida separada de envases ligeros en eventos con alta afluencia de gente y elevada generación de residuos. subsequently tested at the local festival of the municipality of Navarredonda de Gredos (Ávila), with a view to determining whether the idea met the needs of society. The loading aperture is similar to that of containers on public streets and the lid has a Velcro system to facilitate easy emptying. The base is fitted with drains to facilitate cleaning and leachate draining. It has a collection volume of approximately 730 litres and dimensions of 90 x 90 x 90 cm (height, width and depth). This volume is equivalent to that of a four-wheeled, rear-loading container. All these features make it a cost-effective container that can be easily stored, transported and mounted. It also adapts to different systems, surfaces and uses. From pilot study to development The “Músicos en la Naturaleza” festival, held in the Sierra de Gredos in June 2019 marked the first large-scale implementation of the “Light Container”. Thirty containers were deployed for the purpose of fostering a sustainable event by enabling a crowd of more than 13,000 to separate their packaging waste and leave the natural space free of litter. The container is currently at the commercialisation stage throughout Spain and numerous organisations have incorporated this collection system for diverse events, including the Municipal Councils of Madrid, Alcalá de Henares, Getafe, Fuenlabrada, Rivas Vaciamadrid, León and Soria, as well as many municipalities in the provinces of Ávila, Segovia, Valladolid, Sevilla, Tenerife and Valencia. Ecoembes and FERTIPLAST S.L. (a company specialising in the manufacture of raffia bags and big bags) are currently working on a new light container model that can be emptied into top loader trucks, thereby extending the scope for implementation. All these details make the “Light Container” a simple, costeffective, versatile and rapid solution for the selective collection of light packaging waste at events attended by big crowds where large quantities of waste are produced.
