Moreover, sewer systemmanagers will have a tool at their disposal to undertake preventive maintenance and, therefore, offer a better service to citizens. The Gothenburg “living lab”will focus on the integration of water quality monitoring tools with town planning information. The aim is to reduce the impact of polluted water during the construction of infrastructures and buildings associated with the different elements of the urban water cycle. The Amersfoort “living lab”will focus on reinforcing the resilience of the city to flooding, through the integration of information provided by hydraulic models, sensors and town planning databases. SCOREwater has a participative, social approach, in which citizens are the main beneficiaries of the digitisation of the water sector. A platform will be developed to enable contact between suppliers and data consumers in order to develop new products and services with added value for society. The platform, which will also feed off data from residents through citizen science initiatives, will feature security, privacy and standardisation mechanisms. Finally, the project will also provide environmental education activities in schools through the implementation of serious games, and in museums through interactive exhibitions.
