Gracias a su bajo perfil -tan sólo 5 cm de altura- y a su anclaje directamente al fondo del tanque, se aprovecha al máximo la altura de agua disponible, consiguiendo una mayor sumergencia y, por tanto, una mayor transferencia de oxígeno. Por ello, el difusor Aerostrip® está especialmente indicado para la aireación de tanques poco profundos donde la lámina de agua esté entorno a los 3 metros. Éste era el caso de la EDAR de Soto Gutiérrez, donde se han sustituido las seis turbinas aireadoras de cada reactor por 150 difusores planos de alta eficiencia Aerostrip® para satisfacer las necesidades de oxígeno, mejorar el proceso biológico y disponer, en el mismo volumen, de una zona anóxica que permitirá la eliminación de nitrógeno. La calidad de los materiales empleados en la fabricación de los difusores y el uso de membranas de poliuretano consigue que la vida útil -en condiciones normales de operación- sea superior a los 20 años, como lo demuestran las numerosas referencias que tiene Aerostrip® repartidas por todo el mundo desde 1986. Aerostrip® is a fine bubble diffuser with a PVC base and polyurethane membrane manufactured by Austrian company Aquaconsult, and distributed exclusively in Spain and Portugal by Iberospec S.L. Thanks to its low profile -it has a height of just 5cm- and direct anchoring to the tank floor, the available water depth is availed of to the utmost to achieve the greatest possible submergence and, consequently, the greatest oxygen transfer. This makes Aerostrip® the ideal diffuser for the aeration of shallow tanks in which the water surface is at a height of around 3 metres. This was the case at the Soto Gutiérrez WWTP, where the six aeration turbines installed in each reactor were replaced by 150 Aerostrip® high-efficiency diffusers in order to satisfy oxygen needs, improve the biological process and enable, within the same space, the creation of an anoxic zone to facilitate nitrogen removal. The quality of the materials used to manufacture the diffuser and the use of polyurethane membranes enables a service life of over 20 years in normal operating conditions, a fact that is demonstrated by numerous Aerostrip® references all around the globe since 1986.
