Young Water Professionals es una red de jóvenes profesionales del agua asociada a la IWA (InternationalWater Association). En el caso español, YWP Spain, el nexo con la IWA es sustentado por AEAS (Asociación Española de Abastecimientos de Agua y Saneamiento). Aunque no necesita presentación, AEAS es una de las asociaciones más reconocidas del sector del agua en España y en particular del agua urbana; a ella están asociadas las principales empresas del país –muchas de ellas tienen también carácter internacional-; además, su Presidente Fernando Morcillo, está especialmente interesado en el desarrollo e impulso de jóvenes profesionales en el sector. YWP Spain es una red totalmente gratuita, a la que puede pertenecer cualquier persona que no haya cumplido aún los 36 años y que tenga interés en el sector del agua, por haber realizado estudios relacionados y/o trabajar en el sector. Cualquier persona que esté interesada, puede participar en el Congreso. Los que además pertenezcan a la red, podrán conseguir importantes descuentos. Aunque el evento se centrará en personas de menos de 36 años, se puede participar independientemente de la edad que se tenga. De hecho, la esencia del Congreso es dar a conocer el trabajo de las nuevas generaciones al público general y, evidentemente, de forma muy enfocada a ser visibles de cara a las empresas del sector. As one of the main pillars of the event is to give visibility to these new generations of professionals who now stand out in this sector, the first thing I would like to do is introduce the network. YoungWater Professionals is a network associated with the IWA (InternationalWater Association). In the case of YWP Spain, the association with the IWA is sustained by AEAS (Spanish Association ofWater Supply and Sanitation). Although AEAS needs no introduction, it is amongst the most prestigious water sector associations in Spain, particularly in the urban water sector. Its members include the main companies in the Spanish water sector,many of which operate internationally. And AEAS President, FernandoMorcillo, is particularly interested in the development and promotion of young professionals in the sector. Joining the YWP Spain network is free and anyone under 36 years of age with interest in the water sector can become a member if they have qualifications associated with the sector and/or work in the water industry. Any interested person can participate in the Congress and significant discounts are available to network members. Although the event will focus on people under the age of 36, participation is open to professionals of any age. In fact, the essence of the Congress is to make the general public aware of the work of the new generations, obviously in a way very much geared to making this work visible to companies operating in the sector. The content of the Congress will depend on the papers presented by the different participants, but, in general terms, topics covered will include: water cycle; new emerging technologies; water 4.0; water economics and governance; water quality; new water treatment technologies; innovative water sampling and monitoring strategies; industrial water treatment; new desalination technologies; mathematical modelling and simulation studies; hydrodynamic studies; energy efficiency; climate change; aquatic ecosystems; flood risk; and, of course, any other issue related to the world of water.
