No somos menos en FuturENVIRO, y para ello, como viene siendo habitual todos los años, hemos contado con los principales expertos del sector, voces más que autorizadas, para analizar todos los nichos de mercado de la gestión y tratamiento del agua, tanto desde el punto de vista de lo que deparará el mercado, como de los cambios normativos y avances tecnológicos que marcarán la senda hacia la economía circular en el sector del agua para 2019, tanto en la reutilización como el aprovechamiento de subproductos o la generación de energías renovables. Los eurodiputados votaron el 12 de febrero una propuesta sobre la reutilización del agua para proteger los suministros europeos de agua dulce. Las nuevas reglas tienen como objetivo promover el uso de aguas residuales tratadas para el riego agrícola, que representa aproximadamente la mitad del agua que se usa anualmente en la UE. El aumento de la reutilización del agua en la agricultura podría ayudar a reducir el estrés hídrico en un 5% anual. Además de la reutilización, hay que repensar y cambiar el modelo productivo para consumir menos agua. En este número tratamos con especial hincapié, la gestión y tratamiento de aguas residuales industriales, la huella hídrica así como el riego eficiente y el enfoque de proyectos hacía una smart agriculture. On February 12, MEPs voted in favour of a proposal on water reuse to protect European freshwater supplies. The new rules seek to promote the use of treated wastewater for agricultural irrigation, which accounts for around half of the water consumed annually in the EU. Increasing water reuse in agriculture could help to reduce water stress by 5% per annum. In addition to increasing reuse, it is also necessary to rethink and change the production model in order to consume less water.
