tract MARKETS Tele-maintenance of lifts Multinational companies have been carrying out tele-maintenance tasks with their lifts for a long time, although in the case of multi-brand maintenance companies, there are still few firms that opt for this type of service, perhaps because of operational difficulties such as the lack of interconnection between the manoeuvre and the equipment that provides the commu-nication. However, their interest is growing and we are at a time when companies are beginning to reap their first benefits and become aware that tele-maintenance is a reality, as well as the way to position themselves at the forefront of the sector. Control panels One of the lift components that has changed most in recent years is the control panel. Technological advances have made it possible to raise the possibilities the lift control system can offer to a new level - monitoring of different parameters, traffic management, fault prevention, etc. -, while market demands force manufacturers to develop manoeuvres that are increasingly energyefficient (to offset the higher consumption of their increased performance), simple and versatile in terms of their installation and, of course, at the lowest possible price. Car lifts Determining elements in terms of accessibility and space saving, their future has to consider their efficiency and increased security requirements. The current car lift market is recovering both nationally and in terms of exports. The improvement of the economic situation and the construction sector, both nationally and internationally, are the keys to a market that, nevertheless, still survives to a great extent on renovations. Greater energy effi-ciency, greater comfort and regu-latory changes are the sector’s future challenges. INTERNA TIONAL Lift export. The proximity of the next Interlift fair and the major Spanish presence at the event demonstrate the importance of international markets for many companies in the lift sector, even further exacerbated by the drastic market reduction caused by the recent economic crisis. Europe and South America - in second position - are the main destinations of Spanish technology, which, accor-ding to the professionals consulted, is highly rated abroad, especially in terms of value for money.
