The lift market - although it is a traditionally conservative one that incorporates innovations at a somewhat slower pace than others - is not at all oblivious to this situation. The speed at which the different companies in the sector adapt to the new situation, however, varies widely and responds to a number of factors that we discuss in this article with the aid of the main companies involved. Batteries for lifts Safer, more energy efficient and ready to respond to new connectivity needs (some still in the pipeline)… that is what the new generation of lifts are like, and their batteries must respond to new challenges, from both the technological and commercial point of view. Achieving higher energy density and a greater guarantee of durability are the challenges that the industry will have to face in the near future with regard to the first issue, while, in economic terms, the leading firms of the industry will not only have to be increasingly competitive in terms of price - given the strong Asian competition, mainly Chinese, which is able to offer an increasing level of quality at very competitive prices - but also offer more added value in their products.
