Sound management and good air conditioning in the hen house modern have implications both the welfare of the birds and the own working conditions that do not perform correctly, can have significant productive and health consequences. The new provisions in the area of welfare of birds and their consequent changes in the design of cages have led to a new conception of the hen house to release the densities that have changed and the arrangement of the birds.
This new situation brings new air conditioning needs. On the day of Wednesday 16 April, in the morning, the air conditioning of Hen House will be treated in a light técnico-práctica for the case of ships of egg production and the production of meat. We will then talk of welfare in poultry production from a global perspective and the technical implications of its adoption meant.
For the morning of Thursday, April 17, the planned topics are of great significance in the production sector. The first of these refers to the raw materials and animal feed, with a review of what happened and the prospect at the markets, prices and consequences. Later, will review the current situation of zoonosis control programs. The third topic of the day will address quality as a primary factor in poultry production, by reviewing all the aspects that influence in it, from the farm and the obtaining of the finished product. The meeting on the 16th will be complemented by a time dedicated to the presentation of communications. The 17th, the General Assembly of members of the WPSA will be held.
Pigs, poultry and cattle farm welfare
Welfare Quality is a project that began in May 2004 and which was conceived from the interest of consumers to improve the welfare of the animals and the transparency of the process of food production. Participated by 44 research institutes and universities have, between one of its objectives, the development of systems of monitoring and evaluation of the level of welfare of the animals on farms.
The fair, together with the laboratory of diagnosis (LDG) also organized a day on April 17 on certification, which will devote its initial attention to the demands of the producers to the Administration and to bring to the hearing on the trends of market for certified products. The second part of the morning will be focused to the analysis of the certification for the production and distribution, their actual situation and interest, as well as the benefits, risks and benefits of certification. Finally, the day will conclude with a roundtable discussion with representatives of the sectors involved: Administration, production and distribution.
17 April, the fair will offer an information day on the extension of standard for rabbit breeding. Co-organised with the Association Spanish rabbit of breeding, Asescu, this workshop will address the issue of the extension of standard and the contribution required for the promotion of the consumption of rabbit and the research, development and technological innovation on the process of registration of medicinal products for the species cunícula during the period 2008-2011.
