July 19, 2010
The internationalization of Spanish companies of wind power is growing. According to the recently published Yearbook 2010 wind energy of the wind energy business association (ESA), the Spanish companies already have 9.210 MW of wind power installed outside Spain. In 2009, the installed capacity of the foreign companies grew up in 1,200 MW, in seventeen countries. United States, where accumulates more than 40% of the Spanish power installed outside our country stands out. Followed by Portugal, Germany and Greece.
As Spanish wind turbine manufacturers, 1,191 MW were installed in 2009 in seven countries out of Spain with its technology.
Directory of ESA makes a review of the overall situation. The last year, the wind once again broke the record of power installed in a single exercise in the world: increased by 31%, in more than 37,000 MW (China and the USA led growth), according to data from GWEC (World Council of wind energy). At the end of 2009, there were 157.899 MW installed around the world.
In Europe, wind technology, was that most grew up, in 10.163 MW, according to the EWEA, European employers in the sector. In fact, 40% of the new energy installed in the European Union last year was wind. Past EWEA forecasts suggest that another 10,000 MW, installed in the European Union in 2010 what would bring the total to about 85,000 MW.
By country, United States, Germany and China, with Spain in fourth place, are the leaders in power. By region, Europe is the first, with 48,23% of the total installed capacity, followed by North America (24,37%) and Asia (24,64%).
In Spain, the installed power increased in 2.459 MW in 2009, reaching the 19.149 MW (this data includes both the activity of the operators and the foreigners). Thus, wind power emerged as the third technology of the system, with a coverage of the demand for 14.4 per cent, reaching higher than 50% in specific occasions tips.
