ESA awarded its annual distinction Antoni Martínez, pioneer of wind energy in Spain

When twenty-five years ago, exactly on April 9, 1984, was connected to network one of the first wind parks of our country in the Garriguella, Girona (Park which was made up of five wind turbines with a capacity of 24 kW each - produced 125 times less energy than today-)one of the young enthusiasts present there was Antoni Martínez. Soon after, became the director-general of Ecotècnia (then a cooperative), liability who served for twenty years.
Antoni Martínez, which currently is managing director of the Catalan Institute of energy research (Irec), will receive the distinction on Monday 8th in the course of the dinner of the sector which is celebrated as one of the main acts of Convention wind. At this same event, which will assist a broad representation of the Administration, together with parliamentarians and the heads of companies and entities of the sector, will be also Aeolus of journalism and photography awards, equipped with 3,000 euros each.
