Spain will receive the Prize European Wind Power Award

The wind Spaniard is in luck since the European Association of Wind Power (EWEA, according to his acronyms in English) has decided to concede him to Spain the European Wind Power Award (the Prize of the wind European) for being the first country of the world in that the wind arrives to be the first source of electricity in a complete year.

“Spain deserves the European Wind Power Award by his history of success. It was a pioneering country in wind and has developed a stood out industry with world-wide leaders between his companies. These companies have made possible that the wind power have been the first source of electricity for the Spaniards in 2013, what occurs for the first time in the world”, signals EWEA.

The delivery of the prize will take place next Wednesday 12 March in Barcelona, in the context of the greater wind Congress of Europe, EWEA 2014.

According to data of 2013 of the operator of the system, Electrical Network of Spain (REE), the coverage of the demand with wind was of 20,9% and the annual production, of 54.478 GWh, the highest of the history.
