AEE And Aeolican sue to guarantee the juridical hygiene in Spain before installing wind in Canaries

“Exists an opportunity of gold in Canaries to save him money to the electrical system and to the consumers, and this opportunity calls wind power”, has signalled José López-Tafall, president of the Wind Business Association (AEE) in the inauguration of the Day The Wind in Canaries, that celebrates today in The Palms. “However, in spite of the battery of norms in processing concerning the situation of the archipelago, still does not remain 100% clear if the result will be a suitable wind development in the islands or if all will remain in wet paper”, added.

To trial of López-Tafall, is necessary a sufficient reward for the new parks, as well as the permission so that they install the 600 megavatios of the Canarian contingent (that it includes the already authorised power more the repotenciaciones), “what would suppose a saving of 150 million annual euros with the current prices of the fuels fossils, and more than 257 millions in 2016”. Likewise, it is fundamental a juridical hygiene that guarantee the stability of the investments: “Canaries has parks very ancient by what, if the energetic reform goes out forward as it has been drafted, a very high number would leave to perceive incentives and could have financial problems. It does not have any sense that the same Government that promotes the implantation of new parks in Canaries by his positive effect delete all support to the existent parks, putting in risk his future feasibility”, affirmed the president of AEE.

Nevertheless, López-Tafall considers that it does not suffice with that the normative take into account the particular conditions of Canaries. “If the regulation in ciernes (the energetic reform) abuses to the wind in the Peninsula –and, believe me, if it goes out forward as it has been announced, this sector would go out very bad stopped-, who goes to risk to invest in Canaries?”, it said. To finalise, stood out that, if it does not install more wind, “the one who more goes to lose is the system (the wind Canarian subtracted him 36 million euros to the deficit of price only in 2012 and other 41 millions in 2013), and the group of the Spaniards”. Ernesto Pérez-Kings, president of Aeolican, explained like “Canaries carries more than 20 years being the future paradise of the renewable. But, in the last 13 years, except explained exceptions, hardly have installed wind parks in our islands”.

 The president of Aeolican did upsetting in the work of the Canarian Government, that “has given clear samples of what can do well, promoting the formalities, putting all the meat in the asador. “The Government of Spain has now the opportunity to rectify the offend in the deal to the wind Canarian and to settle the bases of the necessary juridical hygiene so that they can develop the projects.
