Vision rechargeable batteries are lead dioxide systems. Dilute sulphuric acid electrolyte is absorbed by the separators and the plates and thus immobilized. If the battery is overloaded accidentally producing hydrogen and oxygen, special one-way valves allow gases to escape, thus avoiding the creation of excessive pressure.
