Reynaers Aluminium Collaborates in the Project Odoo that competes in the SDE 2012
Solar Decathlon is an international competition of innovation between the best universities of all the world, organised by the Department of Power of the U.S. and the Government of Spain from 2002. The main purpose of the competition is to popularise the use of the solar power for architectural solutions, looking for the social support and of the market of the green technologies, with the end to expand the knowledge between the students of the renewable power and the energetic efficiency, promoting the aesthetic and ecological integration of the solar technologies in the constructive structures.
The Project Odoo
In the competition the task of each team is to design and build an only house fed by solar power, eficientemente energetic, profitable, of light structure with the collaboration of the representatives of the market. 20 equipment presented his project, including the team of the University of Budapest of Technology and Economy. The performance of the equipment participants will judge in base to ten criteria: architecture, Engineering and Construction, Energetic Efficiency, balance of Electrical Power, Conditions of Welfare, Operation of the House, Communication and Social Sensitisation, Industrialisation and Feasibility of Market, Innovation and Sustainability.
Owed this complex system of criteria, the mental opening of the equipment is essential. The members of the team have to represent diverse scientific areas and, of course, each participant has to give the maximum in favour of a project of success.
The team of the University of Budapest of Technology and Economy is an organisation that has almost 70 students members, that are under the tutoría of the dean of the Faculty of architecture, the Dr. Gábon Becker. During the execution of the project no only the students of architecture participate in him, taking advantage of the only characteristics of the University, the students of the others five faculties also involve in him.
The main aim of the Solar team Decathlon of BME is the one to show that the utilisation of the solar power can be aesthetic, comfortable and affordable. The students, in collaboration with his professors and sponsors work during a year and half in the creation of a solar house that uses innovative technicians car-developed and that uses architectural and technical solutions that later can succeed in the market. And therefore, progress in the diffusion of the sustainable green power in Hungary.
The team is very happy that Reynaers Aluminium have deposited his confidence in the Project Odoo, supporting it with the contribution of the system of sliding doors. The big façade of glass that finds on the playground is designed to use the passive solar power, and is a very important structure of the house, even from a punto of design. The system for sliding doors CP-155-LS Minergie of Reynaers and the system for windows CS 104 of Reynaers fulfil with all the energetic requirements and of design, what the team needs. Thanks to this structure and to the support of Reynaers Aluminium, the Project Odoo will be able to participate successfully in the Solar competition Decathlon Europe.
