Innovation in sustainable buildings with photovoltaic panels
March 2, 2010
Reynaers Aluminium, European supplier of innovative and sustainable systems in high-quality aluminium, launches a new range of products that are characterized by the integration of photovoltaic panels in an important selection of their products. The release includes railings RB10 Solar, Solar protection BS 30 and BS 100 Solar systems, and photovoltaic cover 40 SR.
With its range of solar products, Reynaers offers architects and developers, multifunctional construction materials that also serve as products generating electricity using photovoltaic panels. Applications extend to a wide range of Windows and doors of a building, from roofs, walls surfaces glass to energy generators overlapping elements. Also include devices of Sun protection and architectural accessories as the railings and umbrellas.
The environmental factor
This development underlines the commitment of Reynaers to launch innovative applications to reduce the emissions of CO2. A recent study by McKinsey1 showed that the energy used in the building and construction can be reduced by up to 45% in 2030. Buildings consume 40% of global energy consumption. The launch of the Solar range strongly supports the general trend of increasing international political support for green energy technology; the global growth in clean energy production; a growing demand for solar energy and the lower costs of production of solar energy.
Reynaers sees sustainability as a set of two components: the improvement of the thermal insulation of their products and the integration of photovoltaic panels in their product range. Reynaers demonstrated its experience in this field with the launch of the CW 60 Solar in 2008 and now extends this knowledge to many other solutions. Altogether, the production of solar energy has doubled every year since 2002, making it the source of growing energy, pollution-free and just maintenance-free.
After having installed one of the largest photovoltaic facilities (16,000 m2) in its warehouse in Duffel (Belgium), Reynaers has demonstrated its commitment to the development of sustainable energy and the Kyoto agreement.
Effective design
The new Solar range is fully compatible with other Reynaers systems and their applications, so it is exceptionally versatile and easy to use for the manufacturers and the architect. It is easy to assemble, both in workshop and work, and is mounted and is installed with the same simplicity as other Reynaers products. Furthermore its solutions are compatible with photovoltaic panels of the main suppliers, allowing customers the freedom to choose their partners in a wide range of suppliers.
The innovative approach of the wiring guide the hidden channels further enhances the aesthetic value of the solution. Although there are no wires or visible channels from abroad, are still easily accessible from the interior of the building where necessary for purposes of maintenance, at the time that ensures total sealing.
The versatility and flexibility of the Solar range allows users to easily adapt the products to meet the specific needs of architects and builders with tailor-made solutions.
Amaury de Cordes, Reynaers Aluminium Marketing director sees a future course for Reynaers and these new solutions: "this high-tech green energy solution offers our customers a depreciation of its investment with specific cases of reimbursement in periods from 9 to 11 years." The solution not only allows the production of renewable sources of energy, but it offers an unlimited range of possibilities in architectural design at the same time. They also contribute to the environmental image of any building. "All this now can be easily integrated into any building thanks to the new and wide range of Solar products".
Products offer a variety of forms, colors and functions, providing attractive and beneficial elements of design for buildings.
