December 17, 2008
The CE marking represents the minimum level of security that must be met to be able to market the finished product in Europe, and ensures compliance with the essential safety requirements of Directive 89/106/EEC 'building products', in other words, is not a mark of quality but of a 'technical passport' of the product.
After the European Directive 89/106/EC and the norm UNE-EN 14351-1, also known as 'Standard of product' for Windows and external pedestrian doors, as of February 2, 2010 must be compliance with the CE marking for any window that is marketed in the territory of the European Union. The marketing of Windows without the CE marking shall be considered a violation of the existing management.
The regulations indicates that direct responsibility of the manufacturer is the the adaptation of the CE marking to products they sell. The two fundamental tasks that manufacturers should be made to obtain the CE marking are the 'trials initials type' (EIT) of the types of Windows which are manufactured, carried out by the notified laboratory, and have implemented a system of 'Control of production in factory' (CPF).
