The international organisation Building Smart, created in 1995, boosts the use of standards for the exchange of information between the agents of the construction, that use computer tools for the design and construction of buildings. Up to now they were represented North America, Australia, Asia, Middle East and some countries of Europe, but no like this Spain.
This association pretends to give fit to all the agents of the sector of the construction: Constructors, Engineers, Studies of architecture, Developers of Software, Facility Managers, Centres of Investigation, Manufacturers of products and material, Universities, Public Administrations. In this sense, belong to this association supposes to have access to world-wide leaders in the adoption of BIM, development of standards, opportunities of networking, conferences and workshops as well as the certification of compatible software with the standard.
Fits to stand out that the technology BIM is very extended in other countries, by what is of vital importance his implantation in Spain. It treats of an innovative system that homogenises and standardises the exchange of information. The main barrier to which confront the agents of the construction (architects, aparejadores, calculistas, engineers, etc.) is the interpretation of the data for the execution of a work. In this way, with the application of these best practices increases the efficiency of the work put that they minimise the errors of interpretation, or the reintroducción of data, reducing like this the temporary and economic costs.
