The FLCQA participates in the presentation of the Study ‘Energetic Poverty in Spain'

An important part of the Spanish population is unable to satisfy his demand of services of the power (fundamentally heating), what reflects in a lot of occasions in an excessive weight of the energetic bill in the budget of the homes. This problematic – designated energetic poverty – is not new neither unknown but however yes is something that has not been analysed of sufficient form in Spain.

By this reason, the Association of Environingingmental Sciences (ACA) has developed this study in the frame of the project REPEX, ‘energetic Rehabilitation of buildings, an opportunity of green employment in Extremadura, a solution to the energetic poverty', that is cofinanciado by the Social Bottom European, through the Program empleaverde of the Foundation Biodiversidad and in which it collaborates the Foundation The House that Saves.

The study deepens in the concept of energetic poverty, presents the different approaches used for his measurement and recopila a series of indicators that allow to describe the characteristics, extension and evolution of this social problem with environingingmental implications. Also it treats the question of the effects of the energetic poverty on the health (and more in concrete, his impact in the figures of mortality of greater people in winter) and tackles his dual relation with the employment and the unemployment.

Some of the results present by Autonomous Communities, with the end to give to know the most affected and to provide indications to prioritise the politics and instruments to the same.

Like conclusion, the study proposes the energetic rehabilitation of houses like the only solution on a long-term basis to the energetic poverty, analysing of brief form the current situation of the sector.

Alberto Coloma, manager of the FundaciónLaCasa that Saves, participated in the round table ‘The energetic rehabilitation like solution to the energetic poverty' and in the back debate that closed the day. It accompanied him Marcial Tarín, secretary of the General Council of the Schools of Administrators of Fincas of Spain, Eduardo of Santiago, technical adviser of Suelo and Urban Politics in the General Office of House of the Ministry responsible for public works, and Pedro Antonio García, technician of support of the General Steering of Industry, Power and Mines of the Community of Madrid. The speakers tackled, from different points of view, the problematic that surrounds the energetic rehabilitation like solution to the energetic poverty, deepening in the barriers to which have to face up the homes and the communities of owners, the most vulnerable population in his wider sense, the plans of helps to the energetic rehabilitation or the need to avoid the energetic waste and the environingingmental impact of the residential sector.

The FundaciónLaCasa that Saves put of self-evident how our buildings and houses have a big opportunity to turn into protagonists in the fight against the climatic change (avoiding besides situations of energetic poverty) if it realises a bet decided by the efficiency and the energetic saving, so much in the existent buildings as in which they build in the future.
