The obtaining of the certification of the footprint of carbon, that concedes the Spanish Association of Normalisation/Normalization and Certification (Aenor), has significado for Old Field the recognition of years of respect and care of his surroundings. An effort reflected in his program 'Old Field: Environment and Sustainability' initiated does 10 years with the design and the construction of the current cellar, to hands of Elena Adell and Fernando Pozo, at the head of the quipo enológico and of production of Old Field, respectively, and the architect Ignacio Burned. Between the three, formed a team that in his moment aunó functionality and aesthetic in the conception of these installations.
The result, a cellar situated in an altiplano high 100 m on the valle of the Ebro, in the inmediaciones of Logroño. A modern creation uitecto riojano Ignacio Burned, semienterrada to 20 metres/meters under Or, to the way of a work of 'land art', what boosts of way natural the ideal conditions for the crianza of the wine: entrance of grape by gravity, serenity, darkness, stability of temperature and humedad, ventilation pausada and natural. His main characteristic is %wing tuning between architecture and engineering, that turn it into a instalación functional, efficient, modern and, especially, sustainable and respetuosa with the environment.
Like this then , the past 27 October, Old Field celebrated said onomastic inviting to the assistants (authorities, customers, collaborators and means) to visit each rincón of the cellar. At the same time, they organised/organized diverse activities like the cata sensory of the new Old Field, a sustainable workshop and solidario to profit of Acciónatura, NGO devoted to the conservation of the natural heritage and the biodiversidad, as well as the delivery of the certification of the footprint of carbon by Aenor, collected by Christian Barré, general director of Domecq Cellars, of hands of Emilio Flamarique, director of Aenor in The Rioja.
Besides, and in the transcurso of the event, Elena Adell, Or Pozo and Ignacio Burned presented the special case that have designed to contain the most esteemed wine of the house, Command of Old Field. It treats of a piece that reproduces the volúmenes of the cellar and that, to way of caleidoscopio, re-creates the , lights and shadows of one of his more representative galleries.
