Innpacto, a higher quality control of precast concrete
September 2, 2011
Aidico's nondestructive testing group participates in a project Innpacto funded by the Ministry of science and innovation (MICINN) with the aim of developing a system and procedure to the implementation and evaluation of a measurement system that will be applied during the hardening and forged of the prefabricated selected is based on the placement of a few gags where they hosted Ultrasonic sensors which will spread mechanical waves during the process of hardening of the material and so register the changes that are taking place.
The research is focused on matching those changes to the mechanical properties of the material at any time. Also be introduced significantly precast inside temperature and humidity sensor for control of its evolution. The challenge for this research center is to build a model curing of each of the prefabricated allowing to predict the mechanical resistance to compression of the material from 24 hours to 72 hours with an error of less than 10% estimate. In addition, this prediction will consider historical temperature concrete of the sample, to adjust the forecast according to the environment which has been under the precast.
