The Spanish manufacturers of machinery published his work on the CE mark
The organization Imapc (Association Spanish manufacturers of machinery for plastics and rubber), part of AMEC, is preparing to edit an extensive recopilativo document of recommendations which, in recent months, technical staff has been doing to their associated companies.
As you know, since 1 January is already compulsory across the European Union the implementation of the directive on safety of machines, which affects the whole of industrial machines and, therefore, to machinery used by the transformers of plastic materials. This new regulation radically changes the intervention of administration in the certification of machines and production equipment, and moved to the manufacturer or importer full responsibility on the conformity with the existing rules.
It is therefore the supplier of equipment who must personally certify this compliance through the CE marking, without which any machine can not be marketed. The action of the Administration is limited to the inspection of market. However, in cases in which estimated a special danger, as it is the case of the machinery of injection and the presses, a foreign certification, for example of Aenor or the LGAI required.
Several transformers have approached already different suppliers of machinery in order to remind them of these demands, and announcing its decision to renounce any acquisition that is not accompanied by the new requirements.
Imapc has been advising their partners, through specialized technical personnel hired for the purpose, how to adapt to this new situation: collaborating in the preparation of the technical files, in the analysis of risk, in the placement of protections and, in some cases, in the preparation of the machinery for the EC type-examination. Its fruits are being edited in collaboration with ICEX (foreign trade Institute) and made available to the public under the title Manual for the CE marking of machinery for rubber and plastic.
The documentation includes the fundamental texts that documented the legal framework affecting the machinery of our sector but, especially, the steps to perform to make the CE marking on each type of machine, exposing a practical working method to implement them rigorously. It includes also updated listings of the rules applicable and useful addresses, in order to be able to be consulted by the manufacturer.
