The 12th edition of the international trade fair for energy and environment, generates 2009, organised by Ifema, recorded the best results in its history and will confirm the upward evolution which has experienced the event in the latest announcements, to become one of the main references fair in energy efficiency and renewable energy. Three months of its inception, have confirmed their participation 402 companies, increasing 56% the number of direct exhibitors. It also reinforces the international weight of the contest, with 171 exhibitors from 17 countries, representing 30% of the total area.

The growing interest in this sector will be reflected in a significant increase in the number of exhibitors. Thus, if in 2008 was attended by a total of the 258 direct exhibitors, for this edition as procurement, has been closed until the beginning of February, with 402 exhibiting companies, an increase of the direct involvement of 55.8 per cent. The substantial increase in the presence of companies is mirrored in the Exhibitor area of the 12th edition of the international trade fair for energy and environment, which currently reaches the 15.132 square metres of net occupation and record a growth of 48% in this parameter.Generates 2009 will occupy halls 7 and 9 of Ifema.

Generates consolidates its international vocation with an increase in the number of countries that will there be represented both the number of foreign companies will present their latest products. For companies, the number of international exhibitors reached 171 companies. These companies come from 17 countries - Italy, Germany, China, Czech Republic, Greece, Turkey, Austria, France, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Switzerland Poland, Belgium, Portugal, United States, Republic of Korea and Slovenia - and occupy, 4.586 square meters of exhibiting surface, 30.4 per cent of the total.

One of the sectors which presents three-digit in its bet exhibiting growth is the photovoltaic solar industry, which have 3.426,5 square meters in the last edition double their presence this year until the 7.171 square meters, an increase of 109,2% of the net surface and goes on to represent just over 47% of total Exhibitor supply. Cogeneration, with a growth of more than 41 per cent to the 1,086 square meters contracted, and biomass, with an increase of more than 40% to exceed the 600 square meters, are other industries in the sector which increased presence will have on the 12th edition of the contest.

Companies operating in the market of hydropower also gain weight. Pass count with 28 square meters in 2008 to 219, representing an increase of 682,1%, although their representation in the pageant is, by now, 1.44% of the total number of available supply. Geothermal, gas and hydrogen and fuel cell will be the main exhibiting novelties of the international trade fair for energy and environment with respect to previous years.

IFEMA, in collaboration with associations representing each energy model (Asif, AEE, pick up and play host, Asit, etc.) and entities (Ciemat and Idae) integrated in the Organizing Committee of generates 2009, has begun to develop programmes of each of the days. Among other topics will be dealt with 'The new paradigm of the PV sector Spanish', 'new technologies in thermal production', the potential of biogas at Spain or the ' realities, barriers and tools of the energy efficiency in buildings and facilities services '. Also, the Ategrus Association held a technical workshop on bio-energy.

The fundamental role of the international trade fair for energy and environment as a meeting point for professionals in the sector is reinforced with the traditional celebration of technical conferences that allow to create an open forum for debate on the future of the renewable energy market. Each technology is involved in the 'mix' of Spanish electrical system generation - wind, mini wind power, solar photovoltaic, solar thermal, solar of concentration, nuclear or biogas, among others – will feature a specific session that will address the main challenges which face in the medium term the various industries involved in the sector of the ' energy clean '.

Given the welcome and the quality of the projects submitted in the last call, for the second consecutive year, the Salon will organize the gallery for innovation, an initiative which has become the perfect platform to disseminate the results of the tasks of research carried out from public and private entities. The aim of this proposal is to promote the development of renewable energy in the Spanish market moving advances in the sector professionals attending generates both the end user. The Gallery of innovation has been opened this edition to the scientific and professional community so that you can participate in any project, without the need for a link from the company that develops it to the fair. The only requirement to be able to submit a candidature is products or developments to integrate effective and market-oriented application. The deadline for submitting proposals was completed on January 30 and the Committee of experts responsible for selecting the initiatives that will participate in this second edition will communicate its verdict at the beginning of March.
