Bayer Receives the Prize GreenLight 2013 by his project of energetic efficiency in lighted up

The initiative of the German company, that went in to form part of the list of partners of the European program GreenLight in June of 2012, has allowed to reduce the energetic total cost of his headquarters in Sant Joan Despí (Barcelona) a 33 percent in the two last years. This reduction of the cost has been possible thanks to the installation of a new system of lighted up and to the optimisation of the gestión of the consumption. This supposes a reduction of 72% in lighted up equivalent to 728 MWh/year, or to 199 tonnes of CO2/year in reduction of broadcasts.
In this sense Jordi Llargués, responsible engineer of General Services of Bayer in Sant Joan Despí, has stood out that “it is a pride for us can receive this prize, since it supposes a recognition to our work of team in matter of energetic efficiency. In the last years have worked for establishing innovative processes that have allowed us be efficient from an environingingmental punto, economic and operative, especially with the implantation of the norm ISO 50001”.
The program GreenLight, set up in February of 2000, is an initiative of the European Commission that has like aim limit the consumption of power in inner lighting and light# up public in Europe. The final purpose of the project is to reduce the level of pollution and struggle against the global warming.
