"There is a clear desire to improve warehouses, mills and farms to produce even with higher quality"
Interview with Alberto López, director of Enomaq, Olemaq, Tecnovid, Oleotec and Fruyverd
What balance can be done in the rooms?
Today, the penultimate day of fair, it is very representative because it is the day that more visitors receive each event, in this case, Enomaq, Olemaq, Tecnovid, Oleotec and Fruyverd.
The important thing is that the degree of satisfaction of the exhibitor is still very relevant. We come from an era in which the wine has lived a sectoral point of major crisis and perhaps we can get in conclusion of this Edition, which the sector has bottomed out and is returning to pick up. And everything has a reason. This year Spanish exports have grown exponentially, especially in what refers to bulk them. This is perceived that there is currently little reserve wine and wineries are gathering teams. We can say that there is now a better prospects for the future than we have had in these past three years. All this is reflected in the fair, in the atmosphere, in the corridors, in that they are not only visitors who go for news but there is also a clear will to improve the wineries, the mills and farms to produce still with higher quality.
Therefore, their expectativas… are met
We are satisfied because the environment that we see is very good and has been selling, something which is not very common operations. There is demand, there is need.
This takes place in our classrooms is normal because they represent the most important point between supply and demand on the Iberian Peninsula, but of course, leaves us very pleased.
Also in this edition is still rewarding innovation. We have seen quite a few proposals of technical innovations in each salón…
Research and development is essential. Practitioners demand improvements in profitability, productivity and high quality products. And precisely, both the wine and oil are a quality recognized worldwide.
There are 25 companies received awards in the entire segment of the production of wine, from the collection, with innovative vendimiadoras to the vineyard, going through what's new in the area of chemical control of grapes and olives, revolutionary techniques in terms of logistics, Robotization, palletizing, of techniques for the improvement of product of the wine, analysis of colors, variedades… Each subsector has its own new products, which reflects that it is a vibrant and with a great potential for future sector.
Wine and oil. Two sectors ranging from the hand...
Absolutely. We, who know as we are of the agri-food sector, already years ago had very clear that oil keeps a clear synergy with the wine. Many wineries began producing oil because the trade channel is the same, by his knowledge of crops, by the difference of working time for both collection and because there was a significant demand for the oil sector.
On the other hand, the fair, both equipment and services, had a mixed content for wine and oil. This has made that we, unlike the visitor of both segments, offer our exhibitors at the same time and with the same investment, two very represented sectors. This is something that is already being done in other countries such as Italy, France and other European countries.
Have they also been synergies between key halls for the holding of this first edition of the Salon Fruyverd?
Yes. For what Fruyverd? Because when we talk about the fruit and vegetable sector we talk about that for example, the processing of juice sector is the same as the production of musts. When we talk about a brusher from Cherry is the same, with a minimum adaptation than a brusher for table olives, we are talking about synergies. As when we talk about fertilization in the field, nurseryman sector, logistics, robotics, palletizing and packaging processes. Therefore, clearly differentiating the product and the visitor to not mislead you, you can find fruit and vegetable content but without losing the notion that this is a fair clearly based on the World wine with Enomaq and in the world of oil with Olemaq and of course with the complement of Oleotec and Tecnovid with with regard to the work in the field, to the viticulture and oleocultura.
What does the four room have Edition after Edition with internationality seal granted by the MARM?
It has an impact on that many languages are spoken in all the events in fair of Zaragoza. Spoken Spanish with Latin American countries who come en masse to our fairs and spoken Italian, French, German, English and more and more Arab because there are many countries in the Mediterranean area who come looking for news. I do not forget Portugal because all the Portuguese producers of wine and oil are at the fair. Almost 60% of the signatures set forth in these halls are foreign companies on all continents. We also foreign visitors, trade missions organized by Feria de Zaragoza, more than 13 countries and five continents, South Africans, Australians, Americans especially in the area of California, the Southern Cone and of course Europe. It is a very international fair which puts Spain and Zaragoza at the epicenter of the Organization of professional halls for wine and oil around the world.
