Bauma 2010 exceeds all the adversities
May 19, 2010
From 19 to 25 April at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre held the 29th edition of Bauma, a fair, as it is usual, submitted construction vehicles, for mining and equipment of all types and sizes. This year it had more space than in any other Edition, with a total of 555.000 square metres, in addition to 3,150 exhibitors from around the world and more than 415,000 visitors from around the world.
In the last call for 2007, so far considered the Edition record Bauma in more than 50 years of its history, 3,002 exhibitors from 49 countries had participated and the exhibition area was 540,000 square meters. So, will the balance of Bauma 2010 be positive with 148 exhibitors and four countries of origin more compared to the last appointment. This great interest for participation in the world leading trade fair of machinery for the construction sector had already detected in March 2009, the official closing of the registration period. With an extension of the surface in the space to the outdoors and the construction of two temporary pavilions Messe München, promoter of Bauma, reacted at that time to this high demand.
The fair this year began with very high expectations on the part of exhibitors: 555.000 m2 fully occupied and 60% of exhibitors who came from outside of Germany, which allowed to reach the highest historical records in occupied areainternational participation and total number of exhibitors. "Bauma is a Mecca for construction teams." "Although the volcano blurred to Europe, is fascinating to see so many visitors from around the world," said Cuneyt Divris, President of the Association of distributors and producers of equipment for the construction of Turkey.
Despite the emergency measures taken by the Organization, the negative impact of the volcanic cloud led to restrictions on air traffic, as a result bringing a 17% reduction in the number of visitors to 2009, of which only 35% came from outside of Germany. The participation of the visitors was concentrated from the middle of the fair and some of the events that should have taken place in the first two days were cancelled or exhibitors, be replaced and, therefore, is hoped that both Bauma China 2010which will take place in Shanghai, as the new event CB India 2011 to be held in Bombay, to allow the active participation of the visitors who were unable to reach Munich.
