Architecture, protagonist in Construtec 2008

'coam' organizes annually the week of architecture in Madrid, program that includes various events related to this discipline and spread throughout the city. This program matches the even-numbered years with Construtec - of biennial periodicity-, leading trade fair for construction in Spain. On this occasion, planned the event hosting the second International Congress of architecture Construtec, under the theme of "building the city of the future of the human scale to the territory", and that it will bring together some of the most prestigious architects of the timewith leading projects and/or achievements.
The focus of attention will focus on the mega global city of the 21st century, subjected to a constant and rapid transformation and technological in where the ever-increasing advances contribute to blur the traditional separation between the viability of the dreams of the architects and the effective realization of them. A proposal particularly aimed at those professionals of architecture and construction that are generating the architecture of our century.
To this end, there are the intervention of architects fully recognised, with some of his most famous accomplishments or his more ambitious projects. The Congress, curated by José Luis Esteban Penelas, will be opened on 8 October, in the morning, with the Conference star of American architect (Los Angeles), Thom Mayne, who will present his design of the lighthouse in Paris. That same day, will also speak to Alejandro Zaera - London-about the project of the port of Triana (Spain), and already by the afternoon, Madrid architects and Nieto Sobejano will focus on one of his most emblematic works, the offices Kastner & Öhler (Austria), while the also Madrid Alfonso Vegara, releases its proposal for urban development known as "Building the Diagonal European" in our continent.
The second day, October 9, starts in the morning with another stellar intervention, of the London get Cook, who comes to Congress with its famous Kunsthaus Graz (Austria). Then, representatives of the madrilenian study Acebo x Alonso will give details of its Center for arts of La Coruña and the Dutch (Rotterdam) Jacob Van Rijs will follow with its known Omotesando building, located at Japan. At the end of these conferences, will be a debate.
