The giant tyre TM 1000, the last big bet of Trelleborg

Trelleborg presented in the past edition of Agritechnica with his lemma 'sustainable Agriculture', staged in his stand with an impressesive waterfall of LED, reflection of the sustainable posture of the company and underlining the commitment of Trelleborg in offering solutions that no only provide a value added for the customer, but also for the environingingment. The giant tyre IF900/65R46 TM1000 High Power, with his flank THK of 46 inches, went the big protagonist in an appointment in that Trelleborg took advantage of also to present his new applications for mobile.

The business of the tyres represented to finals of the 2012 20% of the total of the volume of business of the Group Trelleborg, when it does very little this figure surpassed mildly 10%. This is one of the numbers that contributed Paolo Pompei, president of the Unit of Business of Agricultural and Forestry Tyre of Trelleborg, during the international presses conference summoned in Agritechnica. In these moments the company has 8 plants to world-wide level and 3.026 employees, 34% in Europe, region in which it sells almost two of each three tyres (55% allocated to new products and 45% for replacement and spare).

“Have one of the portfolios wider, although only we promote those tyres that increase the production and the efficiency. We think that the segment in which we can grow more is in the one of tractors of high power, that consider that it will be the market that more will grow in Europe in the next years”, manifested Paolo Pompei. Also it announced the important bet that Trelleborg is realizar in China where will inaugurate a plant of 28.250 m² to attend a potential market importantísimo with 122 million arable hectares, of which only cultivate 35%, and in which the agricultural tyres specialised represent in the actuality only 3%.

“Ours last giant tyre is the result of ours advanced engineering. The new tyre of 46” IF900/65R46 TM1000 High Power ensures a wide extra footprint to low pressesure and a flotation with a performance inmejorable. This translates in a better distribution of the pressesure in the floor increasing the performance of the crop, preserving at the same time the compactación of the floor”, commented Piero Mancinelli, director of R&D of Agricultural and Forestry tyres in Trelleborg Wheel Systems. Besides, Trelleborg it had another recent launching, the innovative tyre ProgressiveTraction, a new concept of agricultural tyres designed specifically to improve the efficiency of the agriculture thanks to a double lengüeta.

Trelleborg Did not want to leave happen the opportunity to expose his last big bet by the new technologies, with the development of three new applications for mobiles and tablets: Efficiency of Tyres; Localizador of Distributors; and Attraction. The first of them results the most interesting, since it allows to measure the proportionate profits by the tyres Trelleborg so much in terms of saving of costs as of reduction of the time of work, in comparison with other available alternative tyres in the market. The user can select the size of his exploitation, the specific operation (plough or road transport), as well as the time of work and several parameters more. The applications are available for iOS (Apple), apliándose for other platforms in the first semester of 2014.
