The official date of registration in the ‘Quarry Life Award 2014' began on 17 September 2013. Until 1 March 2014, will be able to present proposals of projects in five different categories in any one of the 21 countries participants, included Spain. It is to stand out that Indonesia, Canada, Turkey and EE UU participate for the first time to this contest.
The categories in which they can present the proposals are: ‘Public Awareness', ‘Promotion of the Biodiversity', ‘Innovation and Biodiversity', ‘Biodiversity and Education' and a new category ‘Projects of Students and Students' (has created this new category so that they can participate the more youngsters).
Of the proposals presented, the jury will select five projects, that have to be finalised in September of 2014. To continuation, each one of the national juries will choose three winners. With independence of the place where present , the five projects chosen will compete of simultaneous form in the ‘International Quarry Life Award'.
In the national contest, the three better projects will be rewarded with 1.500 €, 3.000 € and 5.000 €, respectively. In the international contest, the best projects in the five categories will select in December of 2014 and will concede them a prize of 10.000 € to each one. The best project will receive a prize of 30.000 €.

For this second edition of the ‘Quarry Life Award', Hanson Hispania SAU, Spanish subsidiary of HeidelbergCement, puts to disposal of the participants the Quarry of The Medina, situated in the municipality of Oviedo (Asturias).
