The AEC receives a debate on the current political of infrastructures

Organised by the AEC, three Spanish experts in matter of transports have disertado about the rationality and efficiency, in social and economic terms, of the current political of infrastructures. A debate that has been moderated by the journalist Ángel Carchenilla, director of Engine 16.

Once finalised the conferences of these three technicians, in the turn of questions the assistants had the opportunity to treat diverse appearances of the actuality of the sector. The three speakers coincided in the need of replantear the plans in this regard, finalising the committed runners but without tackling new projects on a large scale that they demand big economic efforts so much in his construction as in his management.
All this will drive to replantear a lot of appearances of the current rail politics in his relation with the rest of ways of transports. In this sense, the three speakers have signalled that it is not admissible that some lines of BIRD are acting low public umbrella like “disloyal competition” in front of other ways of transport; it is the case of the aeroplane and the buses in some itineraries.
The transport of commodities has been another of the questions tackled in the day of debate organised by the AEC. The assistants have coincided in signalling that the bet by a transport of commodities by railway industry offers too many doubts, máxime when the road sector resolves them with solvency and, for this reason, the majority of the companies opt by the roads to transport his goods and services.
Finally, the financial situation of the roads of toll has been another of the focuses of debate. The speakers have coincided in that the resolution of this conflict is not simple at all. José Manuel Vassallo has signalled to this respecto that the nationalisation of the roads of toll with difficulties is, maybe, the solution 'less bad of the possible', although it has added that this, in any case, supposes a cost for the taxpayers.
