Equipment molding and laminate of the German company Kiefel, represented Spanish of STX, served to make the inside of the doors of the new BMW 3 series cars and the new Mercedes class C. Kiefel obtained two resounding successes in the automobile sector in the last months: German car manufacturers BMW and Mercedes are committed through the machinery of the traditional Bavarian company for the production of its high-quality automobiles. A prerequisite of this high-volume order was that vehicles could be manufactured all over the world. For this reason, machines have to be suited to the different production requirements of countries. "Thanks to our know-how and our international network of services we are very well prepared for a task of this magnitude," said the Manager, Thomas Halletz.
The German company supplied seven teams of laminate to BMW for the achievement of this project with those who have produced the interiors of the doors of the new 3 series in Germany, South Africa and China. Each of these machines produces all the insides of the doors of an automobile in just 80 seconds. BMW produces daily about 2,500 vehicles of the new 3 series in the world.
Kiefer hopes to get better quality with new laminate In-Mould-Graining technique: "After BMW, Mercedes is working with its Tier 1 Supplier JCI, the second largest automobile producer, who in recent months has opted for our high quality machines for the manufacture of parts of interior finish", reported Halletz about the second order in the amount of millions. In total, were given six teams of laminate that was manufactured inside the doors of the new class C. all are equipped with a new tool In-Mould-Graining. This high-tech solution meets highest quality benefits, because it allows a particularly colorful and uniform graining of the surfaces. It is estimated that Mercedes will produce daily 2,200 new class C vehicles at its plants in Germany, South Africa, China and the USA. It is expected that the new C-class will be available from 2014.
