Extracting a quarry check out the advantages of Doosan machines
In order that professionals in the sector can verify for themselves the quality, performance, reliability and safety of excavators, shovels wheels and ADTs Doosan, this company is developing several months what has been called the 'Doosan Quarry Days', an initiative that allows your guests, have more or less experience, get on these machines and put them to the test in the most demanding applications. Interempresas has had the opportunity to participate in one of these meetings, held in the Czech quarry of Belize, to Board and test models as DX62R excavator, the tracked excavator DX255LC, articuled DA30 and paddle wheels DL-420.
Opened in 1973, the quarry of Belize is located 3 kilometres from the Czech town of Neveklov, between the Vltava and Sázava rivers. Concerned since its inception by minimize the environmental impact, since the year 2000 belongs to the company Kamen Zbraslav, extracting from it more than 140,000 tons of rock a year (has a staff of ten employees).
The Doosan group is using this stone quarry several months to develop their Doosan Quarry Days, inviting these facilities to customers, distributors and representatives of the technical press. The objective, as noted from the company, is "see, try and convince" through machinery Doosan, allowing anyone who wants him to, upload to an excavator, loader or articuled Doosan to test in real conditions of work, the performance of these devices.
Guests also have at all times the advice of the demonstrators and Doosan product managers, making it easier to adapt to different models distributed by the quarry and remove them so the maximum effectiveness.
In the quarry of Belize was represented much of the range of machinery Doosan, from the compact excavator of short turning DX62R-3, until size devices much more impressive as the chains DX380 LC excavator, shovel it DL550 or the articulated dumper DA30, among many other designs-wheeled loader.
The Doosan Quarry Days are an excellent opportunity to test equipment Doosan.
DX62R - 3 excavator
At the quarry you could try new excavator Doosan 6 tons with reduced rotation of cantilever DX62R-3, which will replace the DX60R model, providing new values in terms of performance, versatility and comfort of the operator, durability and ease of maintenance.
One of the highlights of the new DX62R-3 excavator is the extraordinary increase in the hydraulic performance, which has been enhanced with a 33% increase of the maximum flow rate, up to 132 l/min. In addition, entered a new detection system load that further enhances the hydraulic performance and allows effective and smooth combined operations. Now also available bi-directional auxiliary hydraulic flow in the primary auxiliary circuit to power the implements of high flow.
The new generation DX62R-3 excavator digging force has increased significantly: the spoon is now 4.4 tonnes (7% more than the current machine) and that of the rocker has increased by a similar percentage to 2.9 tons. This is combined with a swing longer to achieve a better general perimeter of work.

The tractive force has also increased by 5%, to 5.56 tons, as well as travel in first speed (2.6 km/h) and second (4.7 km/h).
As we saw, the ROPS cabin space is similar to the much larger machines, with a very broad access that allows you to enter and exit the machine easily available.
Inside, it is equipped with a new LCD monitor, full color, 5.7 inches so that operators can control the auxiliary flow and other functions, as the supervision of maintenance periods. The control panel provides complete information about the State of the machine and incorporates anti-theft lock series protection password.
The design of the DX62R-3 excavator seeks to ease and control precision with ergonomically located for work with comfort controls left and right brackets. Levers (joystick) proportional hydraulic have comfortable handles so that the operator will act with smoothness and precision.
DX140W-3 excavator
Model DX140W-3, next to its sister larger, DX160W-3, have been the first compliant Doosan wheeled excavators with stage IIIB, surpassing more than the new emissions requirements. It is machines that offer further new features and other improved, having been designed to increase profitability through a better ease of control and productivity, at the time that optimises fuel consumption.
Cedric Prins, product manager for Europe of Doosan excavators, next to the new model's wheels DX140W.
Both new DX160W-3 DX140W-3 excavator offers a substantial increase in performance, with respect to the previous generation machines: increase in the flow of the main pump of 8% and the pressure of the system up to 350 - 370 kg/cm2; increase in the forces of the spoons of 16% and the forces of the rocker arms of 6-16%; increase lifting capacity of 3-12% in front of the bulldozers; increase of 2%, with 12% more torque and a 10% power over strength of traction; up to 9% reduction of fuel consumption; decrease of 5 dBA of noise in the cabin.
Excavator crawler DX255LC
In the range of 25 tons, Doosan has recently introduced the DX255LC-3 tracked excavator, in accordance with the stage IIIB emissions and big improvements in various areas.
New model DX255LC-3 provides a substantial increase in performance over the previous generation machine: 8% increase in tractive force; increase of 8% in power, with 5% more torque; up to 11% decrease in the consumption of fuel and a 13% increase in productivity; up to 18% overall increase in the relationship between productivity and fuel consumption; between 3% and 7% increase in the speed of the machine; decrease of 1 dBA at the level of noise in the cabin; up to a 7% increase of the forces of the ladle and the rocker boot; (e) increase of 7% in the lifting capacity.
New excavator is equipped with diesel engine Doosan DL06K turbocharged engine from six cylinders and water-cooled yielding 138 kW (185 HP) of power at 1,900 rpm. Designed with common-rail high-pressure, direct injection and electronic control, engine DL06K complies with stage IIIB emissions through the use of technologies post-treatment of the refrigerated (EGR), oxidation catalyst exhaust gas recirculation diesel (DOC) and particulate filter (DPF) diesel.
Articuled DA30
Doosan has introduced recently several new features in their ADTs DA30 and DA40 intended to increase safety and productivity on the exploitation of quarries, mines, construction and many other applications of hauling.
The range of ADTs Doosan has a hinge joint located behind ring rotation that provides an even distribution of weight, even when turned to maximum, and ensures a total contact between tyres and the road sign. Dump trucks also have an exceptionally flexible and agile undercarriage incorporating a free swing rear tandem bogie. The set assures that the 6 wheels receive power equally and achieves a performance of driving in difficult terrain. The design of tipper also improves the stability of the vehicle thanks to its low center of gravity and allows you to dump the load quickly and easily, even in the most demanding conditions.
The combination of pivot point in advance, the exclusive tandem bogie and the sloping rear rack achieved the best performance in rough and soft terrain, and avoids the necessity of electronic aids such as traction control.
Furthermore, the leveling meter developed by Doosan to meet the growing security needs of extractive industries allows further raise security levels.
Paddle wheels DL-420
Doosan has recently launched its new generation of large wheel loaders: DL300-3, DL350-3, DL420-3, DL450-3 and DL550-3. Equipped with diesel engines Scania with catalytic reduction (SCR) selective meet European stage IIIB emissions regulations, combining great power of those engines with new ZF transmissions and other features that minimize fuel consumption and provide exceptional levels of performance, durability, and ease of management and service, as well as one fairly high operator comfort.
Marc Glesius, product manager for Europe of blade wheels Doosan, next to the DL-420 model.
New large wheel loaders have three modes of operation of the motor: Eco, normal and power, to adapt the machine to different applications, with engine speeds and the ratios that vary according to the active mode. The operator can pass to next working mode with only the accelerator pedal tread depth. Thus, the operator can make movements in normal mode and change to the power when you really need it (for example, to collect materials for a lot). All this results in a decrease in fuel consumption. The ECO bar provides information in real time on fuel with respect to the performance of the machine, so the operator can select the right driving profile to get the optimal consumption.
All Doosan wheels of the new generation large loaders are equipped with a cutting system of torque converter (TCCO) which, if activated, is automatically switched. This system provides a mechanical link between the engine and transmission without loss of power or torque. The evidence shows that, due to the increase in traction, low fuel up to 10% with respect to conventional systems. In contrast to the transmissions installed on other machines, the TCCO can be operated even between second and fifth, not only in the long March. This translates to higher efficiency of the TCCO.
Doosan performs its Quarry Days for third consecutive year
For the third consecutive year, Doosan has had a huge campus base installed at the quarry Belize in the Czech Republic, for 15 days, Kámen Zbraslav, owner of several quarries in the Czech Republic has given its facilities in order to make the Doosan Quarry Days.
