The optimum state of the tyres, key factor in the hygiene vial
“The tyre is a key piece in the hygiene of the vehicle and, by extension, to guarantee a safe traffic in our streets and roads”, began signalling Federico Fernández, general deputy director of the Gestión of the Mobility in the General Steering of Traffic (DGT).
In this sense, the tyre plays a leading paper in the designated ‘Vision 0' of the DGT, that supposes to reach the aims of: zero deaths and lesionados grave by accident in road, zero atascos, zero pollution and deficit zero in the own gestión of the institution.
Although in the subject of the hygiene vial has advanced notably along the last years, so much by awareness of the own drivers as by the improvement of the infrastructures and of the technologies employed by the manufacturers of trucks, from the DGT aims that still there is a lot of way for visiting. For example, in matter of maintenance and conservation of the vehicles, and more specifically in the field of the tyres, that as it remembered Federico Fernández, is one of the components of the triada fundamental in the hygiene of the car (shock-absorbers + pneumatics + brakes).
Deficiencies in the maintenance of the vehicles that have seen besides increased in these last years of economic crisis because of a greater aging of the car park and to the delay that are experiencing a lot of reviews. From the DGT wants to avoid that they keep these tendencies, taking for this measured so much from the formative field (doing, for example, more upsetting in the examination to drive in appearances related with the state of the tyre), as from the slope of the surveillance and the control.
Besides, the DGT wants to give example of the importance that have the tyres in the hygiene vial boosting the use of the tyres of winter in the vehicles of the Civil Guard and substituting the pictogram of chains by another in which it reflect his clear bet by these tyres of winter, between other measures.
“But this work can not it do alone the DGT, need a direct implication of all the society”, added Federico Fernández, for the one who the workshops have to have a clearly leading paper in this work of awareness. For this would have to act as authentic prescriptores, able to explain to the motorists why is necessary that change his tyres, and going in in unknown details for them as for example how can influence the wear of his rodadura in the distance of braked. “The professional of the workshop has to exert with his equal customer that does it a doctor with his patient, of you to you, with a direct and personalised relation that break any prejudice or rejection”, concluded the general deputy director of the Gestión of the Mobility in the DGT.
