Dynamic safety barriers: against rockfall in mines
The Geobrugg barriers of protection against rockfall in mines are based on a widely researched and proven technology whose application was extended for use in berms of mines and help protect them against falling rocks with a nominal power of up to 500 kJ.
Barriers have been tested on natural scale models and have been certified in accordance with the Swiss guidelines for approval of nets against rockfalls. Thanks to a greater separation between posts installation times are short, and no specialized tools needed. Barriers can be easily cleaned after the fall of rocks since retaining cables are not used. The principle of corrosion protection developed by Geobrugg ensures that the barriers are very well protected against this.
