GE Lighting Lights the Tower of London

The Tower Bridge, work of the architect Sir Horace Jones and of the civil engineer Sir John Wolfe-Barry, is possibly one of the most famous monuments and recognised of London. They needed eight years to finish and was inaugurated officially on 30 June 1894 turning into the only crossing of river Támesis in this moment. The wide catering and rehabilitation of the bridge has completed for the Olympic games of London 2012 and the celebrations of the Jubileo of the Queen.
More than 2 km of Tetra Contour of architectural lighting LED of GE Lighting have installed in the stone and the metal of the bridge. Supplied in lengths of 2,44 m takes the form of an engine of light LED flexible that can be moldeado “in situ” to adapt to the form of the architectural elements. The controls have been installed to allow that the tone of the luminarias can be changed to adapt to any occasion.

By his part, Boris Johnson, mayor of London, 2012, said of the project: “This city goes to be seen by all the world and this big lady of London, one of our more wanted points of reference, is list to play a brilliant paper in the celebrations. But what is more important, this is another durable legacy that will leave the Games and that will benefit to the city during decades”.
