Construmat focuses its 17TH Edition in r & d, sustainability and rehabilitation

This is the case of Stonemat, a space dedicated to the world of natural stone fruit of the agreement signed between Construmat and the Spanish Federation of Natural stone. Stonemat is intended to become the main point of encounter between the stone industry operators and will bring together building professionals, contractors, designers and makers of purchase.
The perfect place where you find from the block up to the more complex process, with solutions for: development and transformation; crafts, decor, design, and marketing; quarrying and restoration; laying of the stone; machinery; funerary art; management of by-products; etc.
With the inclusion of this new space, the direction of Construmat has wanted to give greater representation to a very important sector for the Spanish construction.
The natural stone sector boasts about some 3,000 companies that employ direct to some 30,000 people and in some areas, as in the province of Almeria, represent the first industry. According to the latest available data, the Spanish natural stone sector increased the volume of their exports, reaching 800 million euros.
'Sustainable Thinking Forum', the disclosure of the socio-economic benefits of sustainability Forum
Organised per Cosentino i future Habitat, Construmat 2011 also welcomes the holding of the Congress 'sustainable thinking forum', which aims to disseminate the socio-economic benefits of sustainability.
This forum is held within the sustainable construction. This event is part of the initiative 'Shape', draft disclosure of sustainability in all areas of human activity. In fact, group Cosentino, world's largest producer of Silestone quartz surfaces, presented in this edition of Construmat its 'shape' project which aims to "translate a definition full on what is meant by behavior and sustainable actions".
Through this discussion forum is intended to create a global vision and inclusive of the sustainable concept in different areas in which work together architects of prestigious together with experts from areas as diverse as the economy or food.
Thus, the first forum featuring, among others, William McDonough, American architect, exdecano of the school of architecture of the University of Virginia (USA) and author of the book 'from the cradle to cradle', where exhibits its philosophy of sustainable design; Ken Yeang, Malaysian architect installed in the United Kingdom and author of major ecological skyscraper; Antonio Lamela, Madrid architect of international prestige and author, among other works, the new estadio Son Moix in Palma de Mallorca or the modernization of the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid; or Spanish Felipe Pich-Aguilera, Barcelona's architect and one of the 'fathers' of sustainable architecture.
146 compositions from all Spain choose the 14th Construmat Awards
In what will be the fourteenth edition of the Premis Construmat, whose technical secretariat is provided by the Institute of construction technology, the Organization has received a total of 146 candidates from all Spain in the categories of construction and Civil Engineering. For typologies, the awards have received diverse candidates an airport until 12 hospital facilities, ranging from 10 buildings of offices, 16 schools and 6 bridges, among others.
As to their origin, include 61 Barcelona, 12 Madrid, 10 of Navarra, Murcia 7 or 5 of Malaga and Valencia.
