The Generalitat de Catalunya and Microsoft will work together to improve computer security

The Minister of the Interior and public administrations of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Jordi Ausàs, and the President of Microsoft Ibérica, María Garaña, have signed a collaboration agreement between Microsoft and the Government of Catalonia, by which the two institutions will work together to prevent and respond to computer security incidents. The aim is to ensure the effective functioning of the technologies of information and communication in Catalonia.
This agreement will be close cooperation between Microsoft and the Center for security of the information of Catalonia (Cesicat) in various areas within the field of security in the information and communication technologies. On the one hand, the collaboration aims to prevent the risk of incidents in the systems of public information or hypothetical intentional attacks. Add on the other hand, in the event that there is an incident or computer attack, Microsoft and the Cesicat up efforts to eliminate or minimize their effects, work aligned form to find an effective solution in the shortest possible time.
To fulfil this double role, Microsoft will make available to the Cesicat information and collaboration necessary for increasing the security of the Catalan computing environments: from detailed information on computer vulnerabilities, new security updates, political General of security of Microsoft products, until a channel of direct and constant communication with the experts of the company in this area to identify problems jointly and study the best processes in response to incidents.
