The collection of used oil, one of the last of Lipasam
Also, the municipal cleaning company has also launched the installation in markets and specific containers supermarkets for the selective collection of domestic oil used, in order to turn it into biodiesel.
Thanks to this initiative, domestic used oil that is used for cooking and which is generated in large numbers in cities may now have another destination is different from the usual; the drain of kitchens and toilets.
With the placement of these containers in four paragraphs clean that Lipasam has been installed in the city, the Elimination of such waste will also facilitate in large mode.
The initiative is logically by the cooperation of citizens and to promote the recycling of used oil: depositing containers with oil in the interior of one of the containers will suffice.
Also to develop this initiative, Lipasam will count with the collaboration of Selosa bioenergy, operator and valorizadora of waste and vegetable oils, authorized by the Ministry of environment of the Board of Andalusia GRU 121, which will be responsible for withdrawing the containers filled with and will take the oil to the treatment plant.
The environmental problems of used oil
A liter of oil can contaminate thousand litres of water. This is what is intended to avoid and get, on the other hand, promote their recycling. The oils are pervasive in the environment, because they degrade slowly and tend to spread quickly in large areas. Oily created films can prevent the entrance of sunlight in seas and rivers, deterioration processes of photosynthesis, and affecting terrestrial or aquatic life. Also note that waste oils are attached to all types of surfaces, including beaches, boats and water birds. In addition the oil not only pollutes, but it erodes the pipes and the municipal collectors.
Recycling used oil biodiesel can be produced. He is an ecological fuel, which has no sulfur and pollute far less than others, managing to degrade in three weeks. He is considered that, in the process of combustion, emissions are 55 per cent lower than the traditional diesel fuel. It also does not emit carbon dioxide, the greenhouse effect causing and does not contain carcinogenic elements.
During the process of transformation, used oil, once filtered to remove impurities, is heated up to 61 degrees and is mixed with ethanol. As result is produced, on the one hand glycerine, which is used in the manufacture of cosmetic products, and for other biodiesel.
The collection of canine excrement, another problem
On the other hand, Lipasam is also working to eliminate Seville street dog excrement, facilitating Moreover the collection to the owners of the order Carnivora. Their residues have become in recent years a serious problem for many cities, among which is Seville. As well as providing a negative image of the city, they hamper the work of cleaning, cause many inconveniences to citizens, and constitute a risk of transmission of diseases.
Therefore, the Seville Council, through Lipasam, has begun installing in the areas of the city most affected by this problem a few supports issuers of bags to collect dog droppings. The placement was initiated in the month of June in the District of Triana, specifically in the Plaza of San Martín de Porres.
It's a metal support, mounted on a pole, which contains bags of recycled paper which the user can be extracted from a comfortable and fast way. Each bag has built-in a palette of cardboard, which facilitates the excrement collection and its introduction in the same. Once this operation, the bag must be deposited in a container or trash.
In a first phase the installation of 300 units, in the neighbourhoods of Triana, Los Remedios, industrial area of San Pablo and M'Bami, as well as in different parts of the old town, is expected to subsequently extend this initiative to the rest of the city.
Already since the end of last year, the inspection of Lipasam service is carrying out a special performance in which urged those pet owners who are detected to abandoning the excrement of their pets in public to pick up and dispose of them in regulations: by depositing them in the bins or containers.
From now, with the installation of the new issuers, owners of dogs will have easier collection of droppings as they will have a more comfortable and simple way of materials needed to carry out the collection.
