The companies of the sector of the water invoice 2.000 millions abroad
According to DBK, subsidiary of Informs D&B (Group Cesce), the tendency to the privatisation of the gestión of the water and the remarkable investments in infrastructures hídricas realised in emergent countries have incentivado in the last years the international activity of the main Spanish companies that operate in the sector of the water, in a context of atony of the inner market.
The Spanish companies that at present develop activities of supply, saneamiento, purification or desalación of water abroad reached in 2011 an aggregated turnover in the outside of 1.941 million euros, 43% more than in the year 2008.
Nevertheless, fits to signal that in 2011 produced a moderation of the rhythm of growth of the business, which registered a variation of 2,5%, in front of 24,1% of the previous exercise, like consequence of the global economic crisis, the conflicts in Middle East and the nationalisation of resources in Latin America.
By geographic areas, 56% of the income proceeded in 2011 of Centroamérica and Sudamérica, situating to continuation Europe, with a participation of 17%, Australia (12%), Africa (11%) and Asia and other zones (4%).
The forecasts of evolution of the business generated in the outside by the Spanish companies for the next years aim to a moderate acceleration of the growth. Like this, it estimates that the aggregated turnover will reach to closing of 2012 the 2.040 million euros, what supposes an increase of 5% with regard to 2011.
Presence of the Spanish companies abroad
Around a veintena of Spanish companies of the sector of the water have activity abroad, already was in the field of the construction of installations as in the one of the gestión of the service.
The main zone of activity in the outside of the Spanish operators is Centroamérica and Sudamérica. In the actuality, 64% of them manage agreements or develop projects of construction in this area, having presence in fourteen countries.
Nevertheless, the politics of nationalisation of the natural resources implanted by some countries has reduced the specific weight of Centroamérica and Sudamérica in the external business of the Spanish companies, whereas, by the contrary, have increased his importance the interests in the North of Africa and Australia.
Like this, at present 68% of the operators with activity in the outside have presence in the African continent, standing out the importance of the projects developed in Algeria.
By his part, 59% of the companies operate in Europe, with activity in ten countries, whereas 32% has interests in Australia and United States. The presence in Asia is still reduced.
