The new Bilbao Exhibition Centre will host the 14th edition of the event from 9 to 12 November

More than 400 signatures, from 20 countries, participate in Proma 2004, which will present a wide range of new features, mainly of Spain, Germany, Great Britain and Italy. Exhibitors will occupy the Pavilion 5 Bilbao Exhibition Centre, with more than 21,000 square meters available. The sectors with a regular majority presence in the contest - the recovery and recycling of waste and cleansing water treatment - will share this time role with the of renewable energy, an area with great potential for growth for the exhibition.

With the accumulated experience of thirteen successful calls and from the platform of the new fairground Bilbao Exhibition Centre, the fair Dean and leader of the sector poses a new bet of future excellence and internationalization.

Proma 2004 expands its offerings with the addition of new markets, products, services, discussion forums and initiatives in the areas both conventional and emerging new international environmental market. It recasts the scope and content of the classification of the event to integrate global industry issues and offer.

With this new zoning, the sample will integrate, in addition to the usual, other areas of activity such as: noise control; techniques of analysis, measurement, regulation and control; laboratories; management of natural resources; protection of the marine environment; landscaping and reforestation; furnishings and science, research and technology transfer.

Proma 2004 will be held in Bilbao Exhibition Centre, a new fair exhibition centre, with a unique architectural design, which incorporates the latest technologies in construction and integrated services of all kinds. It offers an exhibition area of 117,000 square meters, divided in six oversized airy pavilions and without columns. It has direct access from the motorway A-8 and has parking for 4,000 cars and subway station in our own fair.

Bilbao Exhibition Centre, also has, a 8,000 square meters Convention Center, an emblematic office building of 6,000 square meters, and 37,000 square metres of area services: restaurant, entertainment and services.

Also, the spectacular growth experienced in recent years, industries and services related to the environment in Spain has boosted demand for information and professional analysis in all fields of the sector. To respond to this demand, Proma incorporates new technical meetings in its fourteenth edition.

Thus, open new avenues to professional debate "I Convention Iberian on the recycling and the I Forum on sustainable energy", organized, respectively, by the Institute for the sustainability of the Recursos-Club Spanish of waste (ISR-CER), the Cluster of industries on the environment of the Basque country (Aclima)along with the Cluster of energy.

The renewal will also reach the days more consolidated, such as the "III encounters Latin American of environment", a contact formula devised in the framework of the cooperation of Bilbao Exhibition Centre and the Cluster of industries on the environment, in whose wheels of business or concerted interviews participating companiesand institutions and of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Spain, Portugal and Venezuela.

Proma 2004 raises a new bet of future excellence and internationalization

For its part, the "environmental engineering Congress" maintains the goal of providing a regular forum for the exchange of results and progress in research, development and management, in the field of science, engineering and technologies applied to the protection of the environment. This year, the new requirements arising from the implementation of existing policies and strategies for integrated environmental management will determine the contents of the Congress, which focus their sessions in the areas of policy and environmental planning, environmental solutions compatible with sustainable development and monitoring and environmental control facilities.

The connection between scientists and creators of new technologies and entrepreneurs and investors has own platform in Proma 2004: the Fitec area. In it, the Fundació Catalana per a Recerca (FCR) displays new lines of research and products in the sector of the energy and environment, by combining the exhibition with a classroom for the oral presentation of scientific-technological projects. The interrelationship of the business world and research as ultimate goal will also mark the celebration of the "IV meetings of technology transfer".

The next 11 of November and part of general programme of parallel activities, will be held the day of the Galapagos, an initiative organized for the first time in our country by the friends Foundation of the Galapagos. It will intervene Randal Keynes, great-grandson of the famous British naturalist Charles Robert Darwin, creator of the theory of the evolution of species, and author of a book - box of Annie - on the figure of his grandfather as a great scientist of the 19th century.

The day aims to promote the dissemination of this non-profit foundation, creating a modern environmental awareness in the public.
