The Spanish biotechnology travels to Middle East in search of finance

The Spanish Association of Bioempresas (Asebio), agent of the Plan of Internationalisation of the sector of the Icex, has participated, together with the Group Zeltia and the Foundation Genome Spain, in the set up of the forum Science and Society: Innovation, Technology & Biotechnology in the 21st Century - Economic Opportunities & Ethical Challenges, that celebrated around the middle of November in Abu Dhabi (Arab Emirates Joined) with the organisation of the Centre Rey Juan Carlos I of Spain, of the University of New York and of the Institute Abu Dhabi of the University of New York. So much the Agency of Innovation and Development of Andalucia Contrives like Amper also have collaborated in the set up of this forum.

In a session under the title To Biotech and Innovation Overview. The Biotech cluster phenomenon, the president of Asebio, Regina Revilla, the president of BIO, James Greenwood, and the president of Bioeurolatina, Albert Sasson, gave an overview of the sector in Spain, EE UU and Latin America.

This forum, that has showed the potential of the sector biotecnológico Spanish in that country, completed with meetings between the Spanish companies and companies and investors of Arab Emirates Joined, to boost the exchanges of knowledge and investment. Besides, the program completed with a visit to the park biotecnológico DuBiotech, of Dubai, the elder clúster biotecnológico in Middle East.
