Deplan offers advice to calculate CO2 emissions

The Catalan Office for climate change (OCCC) promotes and supports the establishment of voluntary agreements with organizations, entities and groups of Catalonia for the reduction of their emissions of greenhouse gases. Through agreements volunteer program, all enterprises, institutions, public administrations, associations and foundations wishing to join undertake voluntarily to monitor their emissions and measures that contribute to its reduction, beyond which forces with the rules. The 'programme of agreements volunteers' for the reduction of GHG emissions is based on four basic principles: commitment, voluntariness, rigour and transparency. Joining the programme can be done through two types of procedures: standard and simplified.

The OCCC offers the possibility of using the simplified procedure, in the case of some organizations without having to validate the inventory by a third entity. The following requirements must be met:

• No process emissions there are (or represent less than 5% of the total), and

• No logistics operations are performed abroad with its own fleet, and

• The number of employees < 25,000 tonnes of CO₂.

Affiliated organizations also have the label, the OCCC, which recognizes voluntary actions aimed at the mitigation of climate change-driven. This tag can pass to be part of the communication of the Organization strategy, where it considers it appropriate. In addition, the OCCC will promote dissemination actions, which will be affiliated organizations.
