The distribution centre in Enns
The distribution centre in Enns, Austria, was put into service in 1989 and caters since all 354 branches in Austria, as well as eight distribution centres in Central Europe and Eastern Europe. SSI Schäfer as the general contractor
SSI Schäfer has made the expansion and upgrade project in two phases:
- Phase 1 covered the whole of the system of continuous transport of containers including eleven locations from picking and four depalletizing, five halls of the automated miniload warehouse locations, as well as six high speed picking devices as a high-performance picking buffer.
- In phase 2 was the totality of the system of continuous transport of pallets including a fully automated high-rise warehouse with five aisles for single and double deep storage. A link to the existing air electrovías was also held.
Together with the management of the project, SSI Schäfer was in charge of the modernization of the current semi-automated warehouse. Replaced the control of the air electrovías and the conveyor pallets by Wamas control system integrating it into the management system.
The flow of goods Wamas system directs and controls the processes of transport receipt of goods. In four seasons of depalletizing merchandise is ready for the intermediate storage warehouse 'miniload' and transported to the respective areas of store through a system of continuous transport.
