GEO 2 closing its first edition with solutions to the challenge of sustainability
The main objective of the Forum, which ran in parallel to the exhibition, was to identify the most significant barriers to the advancement of the sostenilibidad in five key areas: the implementation of systems of CSR in SMEs, investment in environmental and social aspects, the relationship between companies and NGO's, local experiences with the near environment as a space for performance and innovation. For this reason, and in order that the participation in the meeting were to become a personalized with the most experience, the work programme was made up of four distinct elements - exhibition, conferences, round tables and meetings of business - to facilitate the so-called 'qualified dialogue'. Among the speakers highlighted among other Xavier Pastor, Director Ejecutivo of Oceania, the former Director of Greenpeace, Thomas Black Arbeláe, and the Executive Director of the Andean Center for the economy on the environment, José Antonio Zaglul.
The Feria de Bilbao committed to sustainability
For four days a set of 254 signatures presented in the exhibition their latest developments, technologies and services, among others, a very innovative domestic recycling system. In addition, the programme has offered 12 calls for different profile, whose quality and Prestige was credited by their own organizers (College official of geologists of the Basque country, University of the Basque country, Aclima, Ihobe, EVE, Department of housing and Social Affairs of the Basque Government)(, the Consortium Basque Enterprise Europe Network, the Cluster grouping of energy of the Basque country and the same Bilbao Exhibition Centre).
On the other hand, the Fundación Ecología y Desarrollo presented two diplomas to those responsible for the Bilbao Exhibition Centre for its commitment to the programme of 'ceroco' offsetting by the concepts of electricity generated during the development of Geo 2 and displacement of rapporteurs participants in the ' meeting Forum: social responsibility sustainability '.
Received diplomas credited the environmental responsibility of the fair of sustainable development, which under the agreement signed with the Foundation donated voluntarily a proportional amount to the tons of CO2 emitted to finance organic composting for a trade fair in Mexico project.
