Nanobiotechnology and functional foods starred solutions technology forum

Applied to the quality and food safety Microsystems (derived from the combination between micro-fabrication and nanobiotechnology, as the immunosensors and DNA chips for the control of chemical and biological contamination) and research on the effects of functional foods are some of the new technologies that offer different companies public research groups and deprived of the Catalan food sector. Six case studies on major investigations in this area staged the day "technology solutions available to SMBs: sector food, safety and health", organized by the Fundació Catalana per a the research and innovation (FCRI), the PTV and the Centre for innovation and business development (Cidem), in collaboration with the Spanish Federation of industries of food and beverages (IFLA).

During the day, the presentation of case studies of research applicable to the production system of the companies was supplemented by an in-depth discussion on the relationship between University and company focused in the field of food and the possibilities, by the signatures of outsource part of their r & d into research centres, public and private sector.

The presentations were preceded a brief welcome in charge of Judit Castellà, Director of the innovation of the FCRI axis, and Francesc Martos, Chief Executive Officer of the technological park of the Vallès. The closure of the Act the starred in Marta Peidró, head of the network of centres of technological diffusion of the Cidem, and Federico Morais, responsible for the Department of innovation and technology of the IFLA.
