Gaiker organizes a workshop about the behavior to fire of building materials
May 12, 2007
On the other hand the implementation of Directive 89/106/EEC on construction products determines essential requirements both for traditional materials such as plastics and composites for the new. This should merge the entry into force of the CE for a number of products as a reality at European level and in our country. 325 Harmonised rules are now available (was planned around 600) and 26 guides DITE (technical suitability document) already affecting a large part of the different sectors of manufacturers of such products.
These two facts have led to a certain confusion in the various fields of the construction sector (manufacturers, designers, specifiers, responsible for work, laboratories for testing, end-user, etc) that must implement this new legislation both new products appearing in the market as reviewing the characteristics of the existing ones. In order to put a bit of light on the issue is proposed to the present day which has the following objectives:
- Identify the duties and tasks that the manufacturers of construction products must meet to obtain and maintain the CE marking.
- Identify the duties and tasks, relating to the new European regulation, which must be aware of the different actors of the building and civil engineering.
- Identifying collected reaction/fire resistance requirements in the technical building code. Basic document of security in the event of fire in relation to the planned final use condition.
- Expand the knowledge of the reaction/resistance tests applicable to construction materials fire.
- Manufacturers of both traditional and innovative construction products.
- Agencies involved in the CE (consultancies, consulting, inspection, etc.)
- Agencies involved in the correct design of the buildings: schools of engineers, architects, surveyors, etc.
- Construction companies and personnel responsible for work (work managers, heads of work, etc).
