SSI Schäfer develops a turnkey project for the beverage sector

SSI Schäfer has been selected by the Brandenburger Urstromquelle company to act as general contractor in the construction of a warehouse pallets turnkey. This project is part of the expansion of its production and storage for finished products and preparation of shipments.

The project consists in the construction of a high-rise warehouse annex to the center of the German company existing production Brandenburger Urstromquelle, located in Baruth, Brandenburg, in the East Germany.
SSI Schäfer has assumed full responsibility for the planning and engineering of the installation in this project. The company will be responsible for full delivery of the project key in hand since the Foundation slab, through the design of the facility, the construction of the extension, to the installation of systems of order picking, logistics software and the fire fighting system.

The completion of the turnkey project is planned during this year 2007.

The new palletizing store consists of 14 halls and has a storage capacity of 45,000 locations for pallets. The enlargement project is integrated into the processes of manufacture and storage to not disrupt the functioning of the operations of the client. In the palletizing store is expected to install and integrate 14 racking of high-performance, capable of 44 double cycles per hour each.

The transit system's palette, through paths of rollers, is designed to establish a link between the existing production center and the new ship, including a retrofitting of existing components. This system will make it possible to achieve performance up to 600 pallets per hour.

In addition, SSI Schäfer will provide a system of electrovía (electric monorail), with which it will speed up certain internal transport.

The installation of a system of control of flow of material (MFC) and the extension of the existing system of warehouse (WMS) management are key elements in this work and provide the basis of a flexible and efficient information technology system. Together, it is planned to set up a modern system of visualization to provide transparency to each process and operation of the client.

The scope of supply and services of SSi Schäfer covers all areas and stages: from planning and consulting and the implementation of systems, solutions specific according to requirements and needs of each client, to after-sales service. It is also able to manufacture and supply up to 90% of components and systems in the field of the internal logistics, from the production of boxes and containers, shelves, systems of preparation of manual and automated orders, self-supporting warehouses and mini-loads served by racking, to planning and implementation of logistics software and management projects.

Construction of the store are scheduled to end this year.
