Fitec will be the r & d space in FARMAMAQ 2007

The 14th edition of Fitec, the r & d space in fair competitions organized by the Fundació Catalana per a the Recerca i la Innovació (FCRI), will be the space technology of FARMAMAQ 2007, second fair international of suppliers of the pharmaceutical industryBiopharmaceutical and laboratory technology to be held at the fairgrounds of Zaragoza from 13 to 15 February. As a novelty, Fitec will include a series of business meetings between universities and research centers present at the booth of 100 square meters and companies belonging to the Association of science parks and technology Spain (APTE). In addition, will organize the Fitec day at FARMAMAQ: r & d in the pharmaceutical sector, with representatives from other firms, Novartis Pharma, Laboratorios Almirall and Laboratorios Esteve. The meeting will include Roundtable specific challenges for r & d in the pharmaceutical sector Spanish (11.30 to 14.00 h), with the participation of José María Giménez-Arnau, director of r & d of Novartis Pharma in Spain; Pere Berga, director of r & d of Laboratorios Almirall; (and Eduard Valentí, director of r & d of Laboratorios Esteve). Your moderator will be Xavier test, director of strategic programs of the FCRI.

16: 30 To 18.10 h will be carried out different presentations of technological solutions for companies from universities, research centres and university spin-offs, introduced by Judit Castellà, responsible for the innovation axis of the FCRI. Developed papers are acid gamma-poliglutámico, a biotechnological compound with potential applications in pharmacy, cosmetics and food (Jordi Bou, Bioglutamic, S.L.); New peptides antimicrobials (Eduard Bardají, UdG); and BHID: "burr hole immobilizing device". Experience in the use of implantable thermoplastic (PEEK), Lluís boy (Neo Surgery, S.L.).

The day will feature a welcome in charge of Jesus Ramiro Santamaría, director-general of research and development of the Government of Aragon and Xavier test, director of strategic programs of the FCRI. Besides FARMAMAQ, the Fitec area will come during 2007 to the Fira of Barcelona Ecocity pageants (Hall of the equipment for the cities and the environment, 27 February - 2 March); Maquitec (Feria Industrial, 20-24 March); Construmat (May 14-19); and the Salon Nautico de Barcelona (November 3-11).

Also, is available to visitors to the Fitec catalog of technology portfolio (in CD-ROM and printed) which includes the best projects of research and innovation of universities and centres of actual implementation as technological solutions in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies. The publication contains the contact details of the institution, title and description of the offer and market to which it is addressed.

In the contest from Zaragoza, Fitec will present a dozen points of information with the scientific-technological offer for the universities and Spanish research centres of the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical company. These institutions include the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC); the University of Zaragoza; the Office of innovation and creation of companies of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB); the Faculty of pharmacy of the University of Salamanca; the Centre of developments Biotecnológicos and foods of the University of Lleida (UdL); the Association of science parks and technology Spain (APTE); the Parque Tecnológico del Vallès (Barcelona); the research group on Control Engineering and intelligent systems (LLIA) and the laboratory for innovation in processes and products of organic synthesis (LIPPSO) at the University of Girona (UdG); and the company Bioglutamic, spin-off from the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC).
