The manufacturing of requests without paper and the new system of transport of containers speeds up and optimises his services

SSI Schaefer has created an innovative semi-automatic concept of flow of materials integrating a system of transport of containers and strategies of manufacturing of requests without paper for Pharmapool AG. For the pharmaceutical company guarantees an optimisation of his internal logistics, that translates in a greater execution of requests for the customer.

Until then, all the works in the warehouse had realised manually by means of a list of manufacturing of requests. This carried long and cost a lot money. "Therefore we decide us by a new ship with a technician of modern storage and a new strategy of manufacturing of requests", it affirms Jörg Binkert, manager of Pharmapool AG. For the Swiss company was necessary to improve and increase the performance and the quality of the process of manufacturing of requests. The solution had to be based in an individual combination of compatible modular systems between himself.

From finals of 2011, a global concept of installation semi-automated occupies of the efficiency of the processes. The components: technician of transport, manufacturing of requests without paper with system 'man to commodity' (RF Picking) in combination with ergonomic places of manufacturing of requests and a technician of storage adapted. Like this, the 1.300 m^² of surface of the new logistical centre are instrumented with shelves of panels R 3000 that offer 12.000 locations of storage. In the middle of the installation of shelves of panels has installed a stretch of technical transport of 80 m of long with 8 areas of manufacturing of requests. The system of transport provides a fast transport of the containers between the stations of manufacturing of requests and the zone of sending. The software of gestión of SSI Schaefer WAMAS C makes possible the processes of manufacturing of fast and transparent requests inside the zones. In this way, the system of transport serves of base for the fast transport of the new centre of distribution. In Widnau there is around 10.000 different articles in 200.000 smart packagings for the delivery stored in 9.000 boxes EF.

With the new system, the company thinks that could increase the efficiency of the manufacturing of requests around 30%. "After a brief initial phase and of adaptation to the new form to work, the installation has speeded up clearly the flow of materials. The clear organisation of the areas of manufacturing and the new strategies have facilitated the processing and the manufacturing of the requests. The quota of errors also has fallen near of 0", it comments Binkert.
