The Spanish logistics operators already have code of good practice
The code is structured in thirteen principles: independence, respect of free competition, financial sustainability, standards of service, quality, dignity of outsourcing, compliance with labour and commercial standards, risk coverage, respect for the environment, prevention of occupational hazardstransparency, confidentiality and self-control.
The establishment of standards of service, for example, aims to generate a responsibility for the company and a reference that the client can use to claim delivery; This principle is related to the quality, point in which the code advises the implementation of specific management systems.
Labor should be taken to ensure the legality and ethics of the sector, with emphasis on reduction to the maximum of safety and health risks, which involves defining a comprehensive system of occupational hazards, maintain the resources, facilities and equipment with adequate guarantees of hygiene and careas well as carry out training actions at all levels of the organization.
The environment is another of the points contained in the code, which calls the sector to maintain and preserve the natural environment through a lower emissions of pollutants, the correct realization of the management of waste and emissions and waste control mechanisms.
Looking ahead to its stakeholders, logistic operators will have to work for the promotion of transparency "in all levels of the Organization and the agents that interact", always ensuring that the information is "complete""proper and full".
By virtue of the degree of compliance with this code, the Organization shall be granted to enterprises the so-called "stamp of quality logic", which will distinguish the operators "to respect the established rules" in the field of quality, seriousness and responsibility.
Logic, founded in 1984, is the association representing the interests of the logistics operators active in Spain, and currently includes more than 70 per cent of the national logistics market.
